Client Assistant: Shifts: Tues AM 8-11:30 and 3:30-6:15; Fri AM 8:30 – 12 Duties include set up before opening, packing for deliveries to homebound clients (AM only), sorting donations and produce, packing snack bags, assisting clients as they shop, clean up after opening hours, other tasks as needed. Requirements: ability to work with a variety of personalities and lift groceries (20-40 lbs). Number of currently open positions: 2 per shift
Office Assistant: Shifts: same as client assistant Duties include greeting and signing in clients, register new clients, general office duties, organize deliveries for homebound clients. Requirements: good organizational skills, ability to maintain a pleasant demeanor when dealing with people in a very busy environment, knowledge of excel. Note: all office personnel start out as client assistants in order to learn the intricacies of the food pantry operation. This is a rotating position based on staffing needs. Stockroom (inside): Shifts: Tuesday and Friday AM hours vary but can begin as early as 7 AM based on incoming supplies. Duties include unloading and sorting incoming donations and supplies, sorting produce, break down boxes, restocking shelves, other duties as necessary. Possibly rotate to work outside if necessary. Requirements: Must be able to move 50 lb bags/boxes. Number of currently available positions: 2 per shift
Stockroom (outside—year round, under cover): Shifts: Tuesday and Friday AM hours similar to stockroom (inside hours). Duties include unloading incoming donations and supplies, set up the area for shopping and maintain stock, assisting clients with shopping and taking groceries to cars if necessary. Requirements: must be able to move 50 lb bags/boxes. Number of currently available positions: 2 per shift
Delivery Driver: Shifts: Tuesday and Friday AM—hours somewhat flexible. Duties: Pick up delivery orders at the food pantry and take them to client homes. Number of deliveries will vary week to week. Requirements: Car, preferably large enough to handle 4-5 boxes of food, ability to lift and carry bags/boxes of groceries (20-40 lbs)—sometimes up 1-2 flights of stairs. Valid CT drivers license and cell phone. Knowledge of Branford. Ability to deal with a variety of personalities. Number of currently available positions: 1-2 per shift
Driver/general: Shifts: variable Monday-Friday. Duties include driving either your own car or the Branford Food Pantry van, pick up supplies/donations around town and bring them to the food pantry. Unloading supplies/donations. Possibly staying on to help sort as necessary. Requirements: valid CT drivers license and solid driving record. Ability to lift heavy boxes/bags (up to about 50 lbs), ability to keep records and complete minor paperwork for deliveries. Flexible schedule. Drivers and stockroom volunteers may share jobs and responsibilities. Number of currently available positions: 2
